Operating an inflatable business not only is highly profitable, but also truly fun! However, with the nature of industry comes risk of injury to participants. While your units are always well-maintained and set up properly, excited children playing together are bound to get hurt from time to time.
Therefore, it’s vital that you have a well-stocked First Aid Kit onsite at all your events.
Here is a list of items to include a First Aid Kit for your inflatable rental business:
- Dressings and bandages of varying sizes
- Sterile cotton balls and q-tips
- Equipment and other supplies:
- Latex gloves
- Instant cold pack
- Aluminum finger splint
- Tweezers to remove ticks, insect stingers and small splinters
- Breathing barrier for giving CPR
- Blanket
- Hand sanitizer
- Antiseptic solution or wipes, such as hydrogen peroxide
- Antibiotic ointment
- Sterile eyewash or saline, such as contact lens saline solution
- Calamine lotion for stings or poison ivy
- Hydrocortisone cream, ointment or lotion for itching
You will also want to make sure you have safety rules clearly posted at the event. And it’s always a good rule of thumb to advise any children who are not being safe on how to adjust their behaviors in the unit.
If you aren’t comfortable advising them directly, talk to the event host about how participants need to play inside the inflatable units. The host will appreciate your concern and that you have a First Aid Kit onsite in the event of an accident. This will lead to more referrals in no time!
